My Nars Love Affair

Whoa...where you been all my life?!

Sorry guys that I have been gone for so long! Everyday I thought about blogging and something just always popped up and derailed me from it. I hope you guys can excuse my absence. I've picked up some sweet products during my break and can't wait to tell you all about them! There will definitely be more to come!

Nars Trio

First off, Nars...I know alot of bloggers rave about Nars, especially their sheer glow range, but I've always looked at the price and eek, I run away! At $42 it better make me look like a goddess and have Henry Cavill breaking down doors to get at me! Hey, a girl can dream!

Well, I had some extra change and thought I'd suck it up and see what I have been missing!

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation in Syracuse

Ok, this is an amazing foundation and so worth the money! I was matched in the color Syracuse that just melted into my skin. This is actually the first foundation to match my skintone perfectly! The woman at Sephora said that you have to shake the bottle first, then apply with your hands. I wasn't too comforatble with that. Having always had problematic skin,I have a thing with bacteria on hands and the touching of my face.Don't care how clean your hands are, hands off, Ahhh! I apply it with my Real Techniques expert face brush and it works just fine.

It feels amazing on the skin. It's so lightweight and my skin can breathe. Definitely a love! I get a nice dewy finish that looks so natural.

The downside is that it doesn't come with a pump and it can be a bit messy. The salesgirl at Sephora said that they made a pump, but it was an extra $6. I told her I'd pass for today. I may get one later, but it isn't bothering me too much yet.

I have to say this is one of my new favorite foundations! Will definitely repurchase.

Nars Lip Gloss in Stolen Kisses

Nars had a promotion of buy 2 products get a free gift. I settled in on this lip gloss. I wanted something that would be a great everyday nude, with just a hint of color. I tried on stolen kisses and fell in love! This color is a mauvey pink tone that works great when wearing a smoky eye or with just a bit of mascara.

I like that this lip gloss formula is not sticky on the lips. It is very moisturizing!

I purchased this for $24.

Nars Illuminator in Orgasm

Don't you just love free gifts with purchase?

I was happy when I saw her putting this in my bag. Here are the claims from the Sephora website.

What it does:

This light-reflecting liquid glides on to refresh and enhance the complexion, creating a shimmering incandescence. Wear it alone, or pair it with makeup to transform your skin from ordinary to extraordinary.

I tried it as a highlight on my cheekbones and I wasn't really impressed. It gave a hint of shimmer on my skin tone. It's a peachy pink tone with added shimmer. I think it would show up better on fairer complexions.  I think the Super Orgasm shade might suit me better since it has golden flecks in it.

Not sure I would purchase. I do enjoy a powder highlight.

So what are some of your favorite Nars products? I must admit, I'm addicted!

H&M Lip Glosses

Hey there! Long time no post? : /   Sorry guys for the delay.

I have been trying to experiment with color on my lips and thought I'd be daring and go straight to the top and get some red shades. I spotted these beauts in the H&M accessory section. Lipglosses have always been a safe way to go for me cause I'm a big 'ol chicken!! I feel like a clown or look like I'm trying too hard to look older, when I wear lipstick. Anyone else feel this way?

Right Red

First, I have to say that I love the little horses on the cap of this gloss. So darn cute!
If you look closely at the outside of the tube you can see tiny gold flecks in red pigment. Upon opening it, I could really see that this was not going to be as deep and daring a red that I had hoped. But I still like it! Its sheer and is not sticky at all! I have to say for the price,($1.49), it was a worthy purchase.

DIVIDED Lip Gloss Hula Hula in Hawaii

Either my eyes were affected from this summer heat or the lighting in H&M was bad, but I thought this color was another red. But when I got home, I was surprised that it was a sheer hot pink color!

Hula Hula has silvery glitter flecks in it and the color is very sheer. I do love it though! It gives just a faint wash of color on the lips. This is definitely a great layering gloss or when you just need a hint of color to brighten your day!

I really like these two and the price,$1.49 ea, was definitely right! I think I would purchase makeup from H&M again!

Have any of you tried any of the H&M range of makeup?

Target Haul

 Hey Everyone!!

Whew!! It's been a crazy fun couple of weeks! Sorry it's been so long inbetween posts. I celebrated my 30th birthday on the 5th and it was great! My world didn't implode like I thought :p  My family threw me a surprise bbq on the 4th, which definitely took me by surprise! And my best friend in the whole world, Stephanie, continued the celebration through the whole week. She made sure I was out and about celebrating everyday. She is a great friend. The festivities ended with a trip to Medieval times. Now, if you have never been, I suggest you go. I've been at least 9 times in my life and I still look forward to going back! Nothing like hot knights jousting it out!

Here are some purchases I made while strolling through Target the other day.

L'Oreal Color Infallible Eyeshadow in Bronzed Taupe

This is the color I have been coveting for a while now. It's a shimmery brown color that reminds me of a sparkly ,chocolatey gold color. It goes great with the Amber Rush color infallible eyeshadow. I use this in my crease, great for summer. Ladies definitely check out the color infallible line!

Expert Anti-Blemish Cleansing foam and Instant Matte by Boots

I was looking at the No 7 Line of products , trying to pick out cleanser for sensitive skin, when I peeped the Expert skincare range. There was a sensitive skin choice and anti-blemish. Since I get hormonal spots at that special time of the month*cough, cough* , I chose the anti-blemish cleansing foam.

Here are the claims(anti-blemish cleansing foam):

  • Whatever your age, blemishes and blocked pores can be a problem. Take action with this oil and fragrance free cleansing foam. Formulated with willowbark extract to help prevent blemishes. It gently clarifies your skin without drying, leaving it soft, smooth and refreshed. 5 fl. oz.
The first night I used it, I was impressed! I loved the foam and my skin did not feel dry and tight after! When I awoke, I definitely noticed the blemishes that were coming through had gone down and weren't as red! So far I give it a thumbs up! Plus, it was was only $4.94! If this continues to improve my skin i will be trying out the toner next.

Beacuse it's been so hot out, my primer has not been cutting it! My skin has been too shiny for my liking. So I purchased the Instant Matte drops.

Here are the claims (Instant Matte):

  • This ingenious instant matte will remove shine inducing excess oil and give an instant matte finish without drying. 15ml
I was excited to try this when I got home. I shook the bottle as instructed and squirted it on my finger. I was kinda disappointed that it came out of the bottle like water. It just ran down my hands. I could see the little mattifying, white flakes in the liquid. You have to be real quick with this stuff or use a cotton ball to apply it. However, it did work! I wore it the whole day and the oil stayed at bay. It was $5.66 on sale, so it didn't break the bank. But, I probably would not purchase again.

I also picked up that Fifty Shades of Grey book that everyone is going crazy about. I haven't read any of it yet, but excited to get started!

I hope everyone had lovely weekends and for those who celebrate the 4th, hope you had a great Independence day :)

Have any of you tried the Boots Expert range?  Are you reading Fifty Shades of Grey?

Bath & Body Works

Hey Guys!
I was doing a bit of shopping and I realized I had some gift cards cluttering up my wallet. I found an old Bath & Body Works gift card from a past birthday in there. I have not stepped into a Bath & Body Works in ages it seems! They had a mega $3 sale going on in there.

Carried Away Shower Gel and Fragrance Mist

I fell in love with the smell of this one. It reminds me of being on vacation, sitting on a beach somewhere.

Bath & Body Works Carried Away
  • Our exclusive formula is now enriched with Shea Butter for softer, cleaner skin in our bubbliest lather ever! Moisturizing Aloe Vera and skin-loving Vitamin E combine with lush raspberries, white jasmine and whipped vanilla inspired by the way love sweeps you off your feet, for lather that bursts with fragrance.

 C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve

I know this is an old fav, but it's the first time I'm picking it up. I am very obsessed with the condition of my lips, they are never dry, ever! I am a Carmex snob, but this looked promising.

Here are it's claims:

C.O. Bigelow's famous Rose Salve has been a favorite since the early days, due to its ability to care for lips and beautify skin. Emulsified with extra-soothing rose extract, which helps ease irritation and condition the skin.
  • May be used on lips, face, cuticles, elbows, knees, chapped or very dry skin patches
  • Developed by Bigelow Chemists
  • Not tested on animals
I love that it is a multi-purpose salve, though I don't think I would ever gloop this on my face! It has a petroleum consistency. I have used it on my cuticles and lips and it works pretty well. I will say that the smell is somewhat displeasing to me. THe rose scent can be a bit much. Long story short, I love it!

Have any of you tried the Rose Salve? What are your fav products from Bath & Body Works?

Instagram Curly Hair Post#2

Even though it has been super humid here, I have been having some ok hair days! These were all taken on 3 separate days. The top one is on a night out with my bestie and the bottom 2 were taken before work.

Forever 21 Love & Beauty Cream Blush

Hey guys!

So, I was waiting in the checkout line at Forever and spotted these puppies. Now, I normally don't look twice at makeup in clothing stores, but these colors were so bright and vibrant. And at a price tag of $1.50, I couldn't pass it up. I could always find use for it elsewhere if it didn't work out.

I purchased the coral and pink colors. They are definitely true to color when on. The formula was surprisingly smooth and creamy for the price. It is very buildable and the colors are perfect for summer.

I wouldn't recommend this for those who get oily in the cheek area unless you layered it with a powder blush on top.

Would I buy Forever 21 makeup again? Meh, I may try their polishes, but products for the face would have to be pretty special for me to buy.

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

***Sprinkle of Glitter's *** 7 things for 7 Days Challenge!

I saw this challenge on Louise's blog, Sprinkle of Glitter, and thought this was right up my alley! What you have to do is come up with 7 mini goals you want to achieve in 7 days, longer if you'd like. There are alot of things that I'd like to do, but lack the motivation to do so. This is a great way to get support from other bloggers who are in the same boat and need motivation as well!

Here are my mini goals:

1. Do Pilates 3 times a week. I own a pilates machine and I stare at it everyday, cursing myself about why I'm not doing it!

2. Drink more water. I drink water, but not nearly enough. Right now i'm at about 5 glasses a day. I want to aim for 8 a day.

3. Read for 30 mins a night before bed.

4. Organize my makeup. Right now it's in disarray. I need a system in place.

5. Clean out my closet. This has been a thorn in my side. I want to get rid of things I don't wear and donate them.

6. Start Juicing. I own a juicer and I don't juice! I want to try green smoothies.

7. Blog more. I want to blog more than just once a week.

If you guys want to join this challenge check out Louise's post HERE

I think this would be fun and I hope you guys will join me :)
